We took the historic Kalka-Shimla railway to our destination in Shimla, Himachel Pradesh, India.We departed from the hillstation in Kalka and the train ride was about 5-6 hours, even though Shimla isn’t too far from Kalka. We traveled up steep hills and through 100+ narrow tunnels. Also, we were in the new Vistadome! The first one for this railway, it had windows on the ceiling to maximize the scenic views. The Kalka-Shimla railway is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
