Shimla is located in the northern part of India, in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains. When the British ruled India, Shimla was the summer capital for the British Raj. The weather in Shimla during the summer is ideal and very comfortable most of the year, however when we were there for Christmas, it was quite cold.
